“SENNSATIONAL MODERN”
SOHO, NYC
A penthouse that used to be the Singer headquarters needed a clean, airy makeover with a touch of Mid-Century color.
My biggest priority (besides making my client happy) was ensuring that we honored the former use of the space as the Singer headquarters - one of the earliest skyscapers in Manhattan. Though every instinct within me was begging to line the walls with vintage Singer sewing machines, their rare nature required that I find another way to tastefully nod to the past.
We kept the style contemporary, combining modern angles of the furnishings with the detailed ornamentation of the surrounding architecture. Mid-Century Modern pops come in only to add color to an otherwise airy and neutral space.
Both a threaded macrame piece as well as a pearl chandelier pays homage to the materials that once filled the space back in its heyday.
“SHERMAN SABLE”

Charcoal sketches galore, three pets, a man and his teenage son, and a new bright home.
Adam contacted me with the challenge to make his dark home in Sherman Oaks feel alive and bright again. Divorce can often mean one party continuing to dwell in the environment they once shared, but it’s important to reclaim one’s space and remember why we first fell in love with it. I’m so proud my client chose this for himself and his son.
The biggest shift came with updating the dark brown walls to a lighter-toned sand color literally called “Sandstone” by Sherwin Williams. We established a color palette of lights, blacks, leather, olive green, pops of navy, and touches of brass. With recurring materials like leather and colors like black, our Transitional makeover still felt masculine enough to accommodate two men.
“MATCH POINT ECLECTI-MODERN”

A professional thrifter with an eclectic eye and a one-of-a-kind sofa.
Molly wanted to gift her living room a classic LA facelift.
A thrifter since childhood, Molly was able to supply unique finds such as metal storks and vintage bird wall art. We worked together to implement her love for tennis as well as pay homage to her upstate hometown with a large print of the dam from film archives.
Her eclectic style - with a heavy touch of Mid-Century Modern - focused on lighter blues and burnt orange as a reoccurring motif, even painting her glass jugs to match the West Elm pillows. A darker wood repeats from floor to childhood balance beam to the wooden birds on the wall.
“MARIGOLD MISCHIEF INDUSTRIAL”
Denver, CO
A 330sqft re-design on a budget
No space is too small to improve upon itself.
My client needed her small studio to be her sanctuary after getting home from an emotionally demanding job in social work. In her ideal location of energetic downtown Denver, the interior stylings didn't yet reinforce her energy.
We carried her favorite color (marigold) throughout the space, greeting her from the moment she walks in the door to the moment she closes her eyes at night. Colorado motifs are sprinkled throughout without feeling too heavy-handed; various blues nodding to the Colorado skies.
The most important factor when considering everything: is it cat-friendly?
Her adorable feline, Topanga, jumps on every surface and paws at all objects, making her the unofficial decision-maker of all furnishings.
“UPSTATE UKIYO-E”

“I hate it in there. I hate going in that room.”
Words spoken by my client at the start of the project, and magic to my ears: Challenge accepted!
My clients just downsized from a huge 5-bedroom house to a quaint 2,000 sq ft New England-style home and were at a loss of what to toss and what to keep. They wanted to keep valuable artwork, furniture, and items that had been in their family for decades, but they were also sick of everything they had. The master bedroom was the priority and a space that the client soon couldn’t get enough of.
We were able to source most items from affordable places like Amazon, Habitat for Humanity (dresser and table lamps), Goodwill (that metal mirror!), and Wayfair.
“COLORFUL CASCADES ECLECTIC”

What wasn’t done to make this 1,000 sq ft home feel like a dream to live in - even with the owners’ strict quarantine to consider?
I worked to create a home that could support two remote workers, still offer sleeping quarters for guests, expand the living area outside, and feel like a slightly different oasis from room to room - all with in a wide open floor plan that didn’t offer any of that!
